Metec is an international trade fair for metallurgy, steel casting and steel production with accompanying congress. The focus of Metec lies on the topics of ferrous and nonferrous metal production, equipment and components for metallurgical plants and rolling mills as well as measurement and control technology and data communication. National developments in the metallurgy industry are treated by numerous lectures and seminars which take place in parallel with the exhibition. Metec is combined with the technology fairs Gifa(foundry technology), Thermprocess (thermal processes) and Newcast (casting products).
On the whole the organisers welcomed on the 5 days of the fair, from 28. June to 02. July 2011, about 486 exhibitors from 33 countries and 19162 visitors on the Metec in Düsseldorf.
